A five-step process with clear responsibilities, public timelines and a platform that guides every stage. No step is skipped: this is how you build a carbon credit that withstands any audit.
PHASE 01
Eligibility Check
Before starting the formal process, your project is assessed against the criteria of the applicable methodology. The assessment is free and completed within 10 working days. The outcome is a clear answer: eligible, not eligible or eligible subject to specific modifications.

PHASE 02
Technical dossier
The project developer prepares and uploads the complete technical dossier on the platform: reference scenario (baseline), additionality demonstration, detailed MRV monitoring plan, DNSH sustainability assessment. The Bneutral team reviews completeness before proceeding.

PHASE 03
Independent verification
A Bneutral-accredited third-party Certification Body audits the project, including a documentary review of the dossier and, for larger projects, an on-site inspection. Bneutral does not verify its own projects: role separation is contractually guaranteed.

PHASE 04
Credit issuance
Based on the Verification Report, Bneutral issues Carbon Removal Units and registers the project in the public registry. Each credit has a unique identifier, is traceable by vintage and project, and remains in the registry until final retirement by the end buyer.

PHASE 05
Continuous monitoring
Certification does not end at issuance. The project developer is required to periodically report on carbon storage conditions. In the event of partial reversal, the buffer pool is activated. Annual verification keeps the certificate active.
