Independent verification is at the heart of the system.
Here’s who carries it out.
Ecco chi la esegue.
Bneutral does not verify its own projects. Each audit is conducted by an independent third-party Certification Body accredited by Bneutral based on public criteria. This separation ensures that every credit issued has undergone a genuine audit, free from conflicts of interest.

The role of the Certification Body in the Bneutral process.
The Certification Body is the entity that, acting autonomously and independently of the project developer and Bneutral, verifies that a project complies with the requirements of the applicable CRCF methodology. Its role includes:
Document review of the technical dossier (baseline, MRV plan, DNSH analysis)
On-site inspection for significant scale projects
Verification of monitoring data collected by the project developer
Issuance of the Verification Report, basis for the issuance of credits
Continuous monitoring during the project lifecycle for annual renewals
The Verification Report issued by the Certification Body is a public document that can be downloaded from the bNeutral registry for each certified project.
Accreditation criteria.

Proven experience in environmental audits and certification of carbon removal projects or equivalent standards (ISO 14064, VCS, Gold Standard, EBC). The audit team must include at least one expert with specific expertise in the methodology for which accreditation is sought.
Independence
The certification body must not have any direct financial ties with the project developers it audits, nor with Bneutral regarding individual projects. A declaration of independence must be submitted prior to each audit. Rotation is mandatory: a certification body may not audit the same project for more than three consecutive cycles.
Structure and procedures
Availability of documented internal quality procedures, non-conformity management system, adequate professional insurance.
Accettazione del Codice di condotta bNeutral
Subscription to the Bneutral Code of Conduct for CBs, which includes rotation rules and penalties for violations.
